Map Shanty

Hey Everyone,

So I've been having a lot of geographical moments in the past few days, some of which have occurred while I was listening to my music collection. These have inspired me to compile a Mapping Shanty Mix CD. This is something we could play in the shanty if we want to bring our battery-operated speakers or boom boxes along, or just something to remember the shanty experience by.

In the spirit of collaboration, I'd love if everyone could help! So, I'm asking each of you to:

- e-mail me 1-2 songs that you like that you feel represent our shanty-making experience so far. They could be songs about building, about being cold, about maps, or that just make you feel good

- give me some fodder for liner notes: title and artist of the song, amd a little background about why this song encapsulates the map shanty experience for you.

I'll edit the CDs and make copies for everyone by the last weekend.
